Tavern Quiz / Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10th July 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Tavern Quiz (the Service), available at tavern-quiz.com, handles information when you host or join a game.

No accounts, minimal data

You do not need to register or create an account to use Tavern Quiz. We do not ask for your email address, phone number or payment details. The only information you actively provide is the nickname you choose when you join a game.

What we process

Local storage on your device

We store a single preference in your browser local storage to remember your chosen language (Czech or English). This is not a tracking cookie and is not shared with anyone. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Where your data is stored

Live game data (room code, nicknames, answers and scores) is stored using Google Firebase Realtime Database, operated by Google Ireland Limited, on servers located in the European Union (region europe-west1). Google acts as our data processor. Please see the Google Firebase and Google Cloud privacy documentation for details of their processing.

How long we keep it

Game data exists only to run the current game. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for profiling or marketing. Inactive game rooms and their contents are removed on an ongoing basis.

Cookies and analytics

By default the Service does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. If we ever add analytics or advertising, we will ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any such technology is activated.

Children

Tavern Quiz is a family-friendly game and can be played by children under adult supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children beyond the temporary nickname needed to play. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights

Because we do not hold accounts or identifiable profiles, most game data cannot be traced back to an individual. Where applicable data protection law (including the EU GDPR) applies, you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the Czech Republic, the Office for Personal Data Protection, uoou.gov.cz).

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
